I am very proud to have been invited to speak at World Information Architecture Day (WIAD) in Zurich this coming February 21, 2015.
World Information Architecture Day is the brainchild of the Information Architecture Institute, and the idea behind the day is that different cities across the world simultaneously host a day of celebration of and learning about information architecture.
Information architecture is very much still a developing discipline, and as a result different parts of the world have a stronger understanding of (and agreement on what defines) the discipline. While we have the annual IA Summit in the USA and Euro IA in Europe to bring the community together, WIAD serves to further build grassroots IA community across the globe, including regions like Asia and Africa.
This is the first time the city of Zurich has hosted World Information Architecture Day, and the organizers of the event are doing an amazing job. The event will feature four case studies of IA projects done in Switzerland (one of them mine) and keynotes by IA heavyweights Peter Morville and Andrea Resmini.
I’ll be doing a case study on an enterprise taxonomy project I recently completed for FIFA. Learn more about the day and the other speakers on the World Information Architecture Day Zurich site.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
