On February 21st, 2015 I had the distinct pleasure of doing a case study for World Information Architecture Day in Zurich. The talk I did was an overview of a large taxonomy project I recently completed for FIFA, the world’s football governance authority, and looks at a few of the exercises, analysis and standards I used to produce the final result.
This was a special opportunity for me as it was the first time that Switzerland has hosted World IA Day. The event took place in a scenic corner of Zurich, near the opera house and lake, and featured four case studies of IA projects done in Switzerland (one of them mine) as well as keynotes by IA heavyweights Peter Morville and Andrea Resmini.
The organizers of the event, Fabienne Gafner, Andrea Rosenbuch and Chiara Consenza did a fantastic job managing everything from ensuring us speakers were in sync to securing sponsorship and managing all the minute logistics needed to make an event like this run smoothly.
Below are the slides I used for my talk. I will also be presenting a longer version of this case study at the annual IA Summit in just a few months time.
